Red Giant – Quest Room

Red Giant Poster from Quest Room

Legends Of The Hidden Temple

The allure of the pink pyramid has always reached out to you. You’ve passed it so many times, always wondering what amazing things were inside its walls. You never dreamed you’d have a chance to go inside and explore the pyramid and yet here you are, at the entrance to the pyramid on a quest to find the Red Giant, the large ruby rumored to be hidden in one of the chambers you are about to explore. The only problem? Everyone that has gone before you tends to come back from his or her adventure a bit… different. You need to get past the ancient traps put in place to protect the Red Giant.

The Good

It’s hard to decide where to begin and not give away the best points of this room. I want to tell you everything, as there are so many good parts of this room. First, you’re in an Egyptian tomb, you really will feel that way. I know, I’m sounding like a broken record, but the immersion you encounter in Quest Room is phenomenal. Our game masters explained to us that the owner of Quest Room takes building escape rooms very seriously. They have a shop to build their props, their rooms, and their lighting features. Every one of these key points is used in this room. Will you encounter mummies? Maybe. Explosives? Perhaps. Cats? Man do I love cats.

Not So Good

I was so sad when this room was over. I wanted it to go on and on. I fully expected to step out of a tomb and into an SUV to head over the sand dunes on the way to camp. Sadly the only thing waiting on the other side of the door was the Uber to In and Out, which was delicious but was no Egyptian adventure.

This is hands down, my new favorite room. I have always wanted to go to Egypt and I honestly felt like I was inside a pyramid. I also love archaeology, so a room where I get to pretend to be an archaeologist will always make me a happy girl. I feel obliged to tell you all that we have an archaeologist on our team (cough Escape Junkie Adam cough), but he’ll always tell you that he’s not “that” type of archaeologist. Lucky for him, the rest of us apparently are and we had so much fun exploring this room. 5/5
